The importance of the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve extends far beyond its popularity as a picturesque tourist attraction and renowned snorkeling destination. Having recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary as the State's first Marine Life Conservation District, the bay continues to be beacon of collaboration as numerous organizations work together to preserve the site's biological, historical, cultural, and spiritual significance. Mahalo to all of those who help to maintain the bay as a thriving part of our island community.
