Improvements project beginning for Three Tables comfort station

Pūpūkea -- A reroofing and general improvement project for the comfort station located in the Three Tables section of Pūpūkea Beach Park is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 4.

The scope of that work includes: removal of the existing roofing material and installation of a new roof, demolition and reconstruction of the entire comfort station electrical system, installation of new sky lights, adding security gates, installing a custom fiberglass maintenance door, repainting, and carpentry and masonry repairs.

The facility is expected to remain closed for the duration of the project. Portable toilets will be provided near the closed comfort station during the project. The improvement project is expected to be completed by fall 2019.

The nearly $173,000 construction contract for the project was awarded to Molina Engineering Ltd.

The nearby comfort station, on the Shark's Cove side of Pūpūkea Beach Park, will remain open pending any unforeseen circumstances. This facility was repaired in September 2017.

We thank the public for their patience and understanding while this project is being completed.
