KAILUA – The City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services (DTS) will be restricting parking in Kailua and Lanikai between from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, August 19 to Sunday, August 21, in an effort to reduce traffic congestion for residents along the Lanikai-Kaʻōhao shoreline during the Admission Day 3-day weekend. Parking in Makaliʻi Place, right outside of Lanikai, will also be restricted.

i Place in Kailua, and on all streets and shoulders of Mokulua and ʻAʻalapapa Drives in Lanikai from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for
Admission
Day Weekend.


 
Parking will also be restricted on cross-streets connecting Mokulua and ʻAʻalapapa Drives.

DTS will leave in place temporary “sawhorse” type signs on affected streets in Kailua and Lanikai to warn drivers of the parking restrictions.

Following the Admission Day 3-day weekend, the City and County of Honolulu Department of Design and Construction (DDC) will begin exploratory drilling work at the Kawailoa Road Bridge in Kailua. DDC will be restricting parking in the Lanikai area starting August 22, 2022, through September 2, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For DDC’s news release, please click
